Prep without the stress! Fermentation isn’t just tasty—it's a smart, sustainable, joy-filled way to stock your kitchen with flavours that last for months. In this workshop you’ll create tangy vegetables, condiments, sauces and seasonings that lift weekday dinners and celebration spreads.

What you’ll learn

• The basics of lactic-acid fermentation, pickling & vinegar brewing

• How to combine flavours, store safely and troubleshoot bubbles

• Why fermenting cuts food waste ♻️ and boosts everyday meal happiness

Schedule

We start in the garden kitchen with a lunch of locally-grown veggies and wood-grilled tempeh. Over lunch we taste a flight of ferments and chat about weaving them into daily cooking. After an inspiration talk on technique, we roll up our sleeves and craft your own jars to take home.

Practical info

Bring 5 glass jars (400–1 000 ml).
Dress for the weather—we’ll be outside; a warm layer is helpful. Covered areas keep off rain.
Our dog Bosse (friendly Weimaraner) roams the garden, so please leave other dogs at home.

Getting here

Public transport: Plan via SL. Buses Tekniska Högskolan → Norrtälje every 20 min; Norrtälje → Spillerboda 3× daily. Tick pickup in your booking if you need a lift from Norrtälje.
By car: Take the E18 toward Norrtälje (~1 h, traffic depending).
Parking: Follow signs to the large turning-circle next door.
